Butterfly and Moth Host Plants

Orange Dog Caterpillar on Toothache Tree

Did you know that Bella’s website has a list showing which butterfly or moth the plants we sell are larval hosts to? Yes, it does! Depending on which device you’re using when visiting the website, look either on the right hand side or at the very bottom of the page to see “Plant Categories.” Then scroll down to “Host / Nectar Plant” to browse all the butterflies and moths you could be attracting to your garden. Click on the butterfly/moth name to see which plants feed it. Each plant description page also mentions which larvae that plant attracts.

Perennial Sleepy-Time, Oak Garden

Viburnum obovatum 'Select'

Happy New Year to all my fellow flower freaks! You may have noticed I haven’t been very active on Bella’s social media over the holidays. Well, that’s because I decided to take a little bit of time off to recenter and regroup myself to get ready for what I hope to be an amazing 2024. But I’m back now and ready to be more social.

Smooth Hydrangea

Smooth Hydrangea

A few months ago I had the beautiful Hydrangea arborescens, Smooth Hydrangea, in stock in 7-gallon size. Y’all loved that plant so much that I sold out of it within a couple of days. Well, I’m happy to say that my awesome native supplier now has the 3-gallon size in stock! They are $22 each, and the plants are 1-2′ tall. They are listed as “available on backorder” in the garden shop. That simply means I don’t have any in stock but my supplier does. So go on ahead and click here: Smooth Hydrangea, to go order yourself some.

Website Updates

Halesia diptera, Two-Winged Silverbell

Hello there, my fellow flower freaks!

Over the next couple of weeks I’ll be adding lots of new plants to the garden shop. The easiest way to see what’s been added since the last time you visited the shop is to click on the “Default sorting” drop-down box, then click “Sort by latest.” You’ll then see the plants listed chronologically with the newest showing first. Default sorting is simply alphabetical sorting.
