Hello to all my native plant peeps! Man, it is hot out there. I worked in Bella’s garden shop area for a couple of hours today. Had a big ol’ to do list of things I wanted to get done. Well, that list has only a few things crossed off cause I got just to dang hot to stay out there. Oh well, I’ll get it done another day. Y’all stay as cool as you can, and remember to hydrate.

As I type this, it’s raining here in Starke. There aren’t many things better than watching the rain fall, smelling the soil start to get wet, and listening to the thunder roll. I hope you’re getting some rain too.
Well, it’s August, y’all. Which means it’s hot and sticky and kinda gross outside. “kinda gross” is a scientific term for Florida’s August weather, ya know. lol You can still plant in August/September, just remember that the new plants will need more water than usual to get established.

Hi there. I’m sure your gardens are enjoying all this wonderful rain as much as my personal garden is!
Speaking of personal gardens, I have a big ol’ list of plants I’m adding to my garden over the next few weeks. Yes, I know that October through April is the premium time to plant in our area. But y’all keep me so busy during those months that I seriously don’t have time to tend to my own garden. So I’ll just be out toiling and sweating in our heat and humidity while gardening … and loving every minute of it. I’ll post pics so you can follow along as my garden grows.

Have you noticed that the plants have started waking up from their winter nap?? I’ve seen glorious maples, Chickasaw plums, flatwoods plum, and redbuds already blooming. Lots of perennials in Bella’s area are starting to show new growth. They get added back into inventory once they fully leaf out.
