Description
Botanical Name: Farfugium japonicum ‘Crispata’
Common Name: Farfugium ‘Crispata’, Crested Leopard Plant
Description: This is a gorgeous, small, semi-evergreen to evergreen perennial for your part shade to shade garden. Mine is growing under the Sweetgum tree, where it is very happy. It does like a moist area, but not standing water. It also does great as a container plant. It’s a medium grower to 2-3′ tall and wide. The leaves have adorable ruffled edges, and the plant is deer resistant. To top all that wonderfulness off, the yellow daisy-type flowers bloom on 2′ stalks in late fall/early winter and they attract bees and butterflies and other pollinators. ‘Crispata’ is my favorite of the Farfugiums … go buy yourself one!!
This plant in 1-gallon containers is 1-2′ tall and wide.
Hardiness Zones 7 – 10
