Botanical Name: Salvia guaranitica ‘Black And Blue’
Common Name: Black and Blue Salvia, Black and Blue Anise Sage
Description: Stunning blue blooms emerge from black spikes from mid summer until frost on this large variety that is resilient to disease and pollution. Excellent for containers, rock gardens, regular garden beds, etc. This upright perennial gets at least 4′ tall and wide, so give it room to grow. It likes a part sun situation best, but can also do full sun. All the pollinators love this plant. The hummingbirds in my personal garden actually have fights over it. This will reseed, but it’s not an aggressive reseeder. Once it starts blooming, it almost always has flowers on it. Give it a haircut if it gets too leggy in late summer.
These plants in 1-gallon containers are about 1-1/2′ tall x 1′ wide.
Hardiness Zones 7-10
