American Rose Center

Well hello there, my fellow flower freaks.

For those of you who love roses as much as I do, have you visited the American Rose Center just over the state line in Shreveport, LA, recently?? If not, what the heck are you waiting for!?? Spring is a great time to visit cause the roses are all waking up from their winter beauty sleeps and will be blooming their beautiful heads off very soon.

March is a busy month at ARC with festivals, workshops, volunteer days, and seminars going on. Here’s a link to download the March newsletter that lists all of their happenings:

The rose in the pic is Clotilde Soupert, Climbing. I had her growing along a fence in my garden a few years ago. She is an absolutely stunningly beautiful climbing rose that was discovered by Fruitland Nurseries in 1896. She’s a sport of the Polyantha Clotilde Soupert. You need her in your garden if you have the room to let her grow to her 15′ glory.

Happy diggin’ in the dirt!
